Tesla Mobile Connector Installation Services by RF-Electric
A Tesla Mobile Connector charger comes standard with all Tesla vehicles ready for level-1 charging. While the Tesla Wall Connector provides the fastest recharge rate, it also adds about $725 to the overall cost. The Tesla Mobile Connector equipped with one of the available 240-volt level-2 charging adaptors provides a charge rate that meets most EV owner’s needs. The only added cost for this level-2 charging is one of the adaptors which we can supply.
(TMC) With a 50-amp flush mount receptacle – These installations work with the Tesla Mobile Charger fitted with a 50-amp adapter. They include a 50-amp flush mounted receptacle on a dedicated 240-volt circuit. The receptacle is generally installed flush mounted directly under a flush mount service panel in the garage.
(TMC) With 50-amp outdoor receptacle - The Tesla Gen-2 Mobile Connector is waterproof and can be used outdoors for owners without a garage. Each installation is unique and requires careful thought as to the best location for the charger receptacle. With a driveway directly adjacent to the house, the receptacle is generally mounted on the house wall. Other installations where the driveway is not next to the house may require trenching to the parking location and post mounting the receptacle.
(TMC) With 50-amp surface mounted receptacle - These installations work with the Tesla Mobile Charger fitted with a 50-amp adapter. They include a 50-amp surface mounted receptacle on a dedicated 240-volt circuit. When the Electrical Service Panel is in the basement, the circuit is run from the panel through the basement into the garage. Then usually extended with conduit through the garage to the charger location. With an unfinished basement these installations are straightforward. When the basement is finished the installation can be more challenging, especially when the ceiling is finished with sheet rock. In those cases, the wire is fished where possible, run through unfinished areas and duct-work chases. The installation of access panels is also often required to access the garage.
(TMC) With 50-amp receptacle & new sub panel - These installations work with the Tesla Mobile Charger fitted with a 50-amp adapter. They include a 50-amp receptacle on a dedicated 240-volt circuit. A sub-panel is sometimes needed when the existing service panel is full. In other cases, a sub panel is installed in the garage to feed the charger receptacle and provide capacity for adding additional EV chargers in the future.
